This new 3-day cycling tour, operating in the shoulder seasons, immerses guests in the untamed beauty and rich traditions of the Dalmatian Hinterland. Designed for active guests on bikes and e-bikes, the tour explores a wealth of cultural and historical landmarks, with a special focus on local history and time-honoured customs.

Over three days, travellers will discover the region’s unique eno-gastronomic identity. This includes private wine tastings at renowned local wineries like Matković and Pilač, and authentic meals featuring iconic specialities such as arambašići (sauerkraut rolls), bread baked under the iron bell (peka)soparnik (Swiss chard pie), and uštipci (sweet fritters). This tour is the ultimate active and immersive experience of the Dalmatian hinterland’s soul.

Day 1: Arrival & Immersion into History and Tradition

    Your journey begins with a warm welcome at Split Airport. Your organized private transfer will be waiting to whisk you away to your authentic accommodation nestled in the heart of the Dalmatian Hinterland.

  • 16:00 – Arrival and Check-in at Rural Guesthouse:
    Arrive at your charming rural lodgings, where you can settle in and enjoy a moment to relax and soak in the serene atmosphere.

  • 17:30 – Introductory Walk & Visit to a Local Landmark:
    Ease into the pace of Zagora with a gentle guided walk to a nearby historical site, such as an ancient church, fortress, or local museum. This is your first introduction to the rich spirit of the region.

  • 19:30 – Welcome Dinner with Local Specialties (Included):
    Your culinary adventure commences at a traditional konoba (tavern). This first dinner is an initiation into the heart of Zagora’s cuisine, featuring iconic dishes like arambašići (savoury minced meat rolls in sauerkraut) and bread baked under the peka (a traditional iron bell).


Day 2: Rugged Landscapes, Wine & Echoes of the Past

  • 09:00 – 13:00: Morning Cycling Tour through Historic Towns:
    Mount your bike for a ride through the captivating karst landscape to one of the region’s characteristic stone-built towns, such as Vrgorac or Imotski. Explore cultural and historical landmarks with a special focus on local traditions and way of life.

  • 13:00 – 14:00: Lunch at a Family-Run Tavern (Included):
    Refuel with a genuine home-cooked lunch at a family-owned konoba. Here, you will taste the legendary soparnik, a traditional Dalmatian Swiss chard pie protected as an intangible cultural heritage.

  • 14:30 – 17:00: Afternoon Wine Telling at Matković Winery:
    Immerse yourself in the world of local viticulture with an intimate tasting at the family-run Matković Winery. Sample authentic Dalmatian Hinterland wines, such as the unique Kujundžuša and robust Trnjak.

  • 19:30 – Dinner (Included):
    The day concludes with another delightful dinner at a carefully selected local restaurant, offering another opportunity to explore the region’s diverse gastronomy.


Day 3: Lakes, Wine & A Sweet Farewell

  • 09:00 – 12:30: Final Cycling Tour along the Lakes:
    Embark on a memorable final ride along the shores of the famous karst lakes of the region, such as the mesmerizing Blue and Red Lakes near Imotski, enjoying the views of these unique geological phenomena.

  • 13:00 – 14:00: Farewell Lunch (Included):
    Gather for a farewell lunch at a local konoba, where you’ll have the chance to taste sweet uštipci (traditional fritters), a popular local treat.

  • 14:30 – 16:00: Final Wine Tasting at Pilač Winery:

  • 16:30 – Return to Guesthouse & Preparation for Departure:
